On the afternoon of May 12, 2026, at the Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology – Tam Anh General Hospital, Eurofins GENTIS organized a scientific seminar to provide updates on the latest advances in Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT). The program was attended by clinicians, embryologists, and interns from the Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology.

Representing Eurofins GENTIS, Mr. Nguyen Van Huynh, MSc., Head of the Research & Development (R&D) Team, presented an overview of the PGT testing system currently implemented at GENTIS, with particular emphasis on three key tests: PGT FAST, PGT UPGRADE, and PGT NEXT - solutions that have attracted considerable interest from clinical specialists.

PGT FAST (PGT-A/SR) is a preimplantation genetic screening test that analyzes all 24 chromosomes to detect aneuploidies, one of the most common causes of implantation failure, early miscarriage, or genetic abnormalities in children. A key advantage of PGT FAST is its rapid turnaround time of approximately 15 hours from receipt of the embryo biopsy sample, helping optimize embryo selection and transfer timing during IVF cycles.

PGT UPGRADE is an advanced test designed to expand the detection of aneuploidies and chromosomal structural abnormalities, including deletions and duplications, while also identifying embryos carrying balanced translocations inherited from either parent. This test is particularly beneficial for patients with recurrent miscarriages, repeated implantation failure, or known chromosomal abnormalities, providing additional critical genetic information for optimal embryo selection.

PGT NEXT is a comprehensive test capable of detecting aneuploidies across all 24 chromosomes, chromosomal structural abnormalities, as well as haploid and polyploid embryos. This assay supports a more comprehensive assessment of abnormalities associated with the fertilization process, thereby improving the selection of suitable euploid embryos for transfer, especially in cases involving abnormal fertilization.

During the discussion session, doctors from Tam Anh General Hospital actively exchanged professional insights and raised numerous questions regarding testing workflows, clinical value, and the practical application of PGT technologies in assisted reproductive medicine.

The professional exchange between Eurofins GENTIS and Tam Anh General Hospital not only carried academic significance but also opened up opportunities for sustainable collaboration in training, clinical consultation, and the implementation of advanced genetic testing in IVF practice. Through close cooperation between both parties, the program is expected to contribute to improved treatment outcomes, optimization of assisted reproductive procedures, reduction of psychological and financial burdens for patients, and the delivery of meaningful value to the community on the journey toward welcoming healthy babies.
