Updates on Advances in NIPT, HPV E-Prep and Preeclampsia Screening

During the seminar, Pharmacist Duong Thi Phuong – Product Management Specialist at Eurofins GENTIS – presented key professional information on three groups of tests that are increasingly applied in clinical practice.

Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) is a prenatal screening method that analyzes cell-free fetal DNA in maternal blood to assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome, Edwards syndrome, and Patau syndrome. With its high accuracy and non-invasive nature, NIPT has increasingly become an important screening option in modern prenatal care.

Liquid-based cytology using the E-Prep method in combination with HPV DNA testing is a cervical cancer screening approach implemented by Eurofins GENTIS to support the early detection of precancerous lesions. E-Prep helps identify abnormal cervical cells, while HPV DNA testing determines the presence of high-risk HPV types. Combining the two methods provides clinicians with more comprehensive information for patient assessment and supports appropriate follow-up and management for each individual.

Preeclampsia screening in pregnant women helps assess the risk of preeclampsia from the first trimester by combining biochemical markers, ultrasound measurements, and maternal clinical information.
