GENTIS gives 100 gifts to pregnant mothers in the program "Give your baby a perfect start" at Thanh Nhan Hospital

The program "Give your baby a perfect start" took place from June 1, 2023 - July 1, 2023, organized by GENTIS in collaboration with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2 - Thanh Nhan Hospital and successfully took place. GENTIS is honored to be the main sponsor, accompanying this program.

More than 100 sets of newborn clothes have been hand-delivered by GENTIS and Thanh Nhan Hospital to pregnant women who registered for examination and birth at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2 - Thanh Nhan Hospital. This is a small gift GENTIS wants to give to pregnant mothers as a deep gratitude for using the NBS testing service. Most importantly, GENTIS wants to join hands with Thanh Nhan Hospital to gradually popularize NBS testing to people across the country.

The program "Give your baby a perfect start" is an event in the series of campaigns in cooperation with GENTIS's Thanh Nhan Hospital. With the desire to accompany doctors and experts to provide comprehensive health care for children and contribute to improving the quality of Vietnam's population, GENTIS hopes that after this program, families have better understand the importance of having an NBS test as soon as a baby is born.

According to experts, newborn screening helps to detect congenital diseases early for timely treatment, avoid disease progression, difficult to treat as well as reduce costs for later treatment sessions or become a burden for patients, family and society. Currently, GENTIS is providing 3 packages of NBS testing, which are the 5 disease NBS package, the Hemoglobin disease NBS package and the 82 disease NBS package for mothers to freely choose.

It is noteworthy that the NBS test packages at GENTIS can now detect the following diseases: G6PD enzyme deficiency, Congenital hypothyroidism, Congenital adrenal hyperplasia, Phenylketonuria, Galactosemia; metabolic disorders and hemoglobin disease.
A special feature is the quick return of test results, thereby helping to improve the value of the test in early detection and timely treatment. With high-risk NBS results, Dr. BS Tran Thi Chi Mai - Head of Biochemistry Department of National Children's Hospital will read the results and advise, giving the next indication. In addition, GENTIS also provides genetic tests to help diagnose the results, help doctors give advice and prescribe the best treatment for children.
